((BOUNCE))

Mini trampoline fitness classes. 10 minutes of ((BOUNCE)) is the same as a 30 minute run!
The instructors definitely enjoy what they do!

((Bounce)) is an exercise class with a difference – through the whole thing, each member of the class is continually bouncing up and down on a trampoline. It burns calories at a much higher rate than normal aerobics, and keeps the fun in every bounce. Trampoline fitness was even recognised as "the most efficient and effective exercise yet devised by man" by NASA due to the extra gravitational force that the trampoline pad adds, whilst decreasing impact to the ligaments. Give it a go at Dean Court or The Oxford Academy and see what you think!

High intensity and high fun workout is a great choice for general fitness

((BOUNCE)) is a fitness class done on trampolines. I like trampolines, and I like dance based cardio, so I had high hopes for this class, and they were more than met. This is a very energetic but very very fun fitness class, where you bounce about to pop music to the encouragement of a friendly instructor. I liked it a LOT.

One of the thing I was most impressed with was how balanced the workout was. There is 40 minutes of high intensity cardio (VERY high intensity cardio!) followed by a track each for toning arms and bums, and two for abs, then a cool down. This resulted in a very balanced workout - if this was the only form of exercise you were doing that would be a well rounded regime in a way that either just going running or only going to bodypump wouldn’t.

My friend was wearing a fitbit, andshe let me peek at the stats for the session. The results were an impressive 420 calories burned and 45 minutes in the fat burning zone of heart rate. While extremely fun, this isn’t a gimmick type exercise class - it’s a serious workout.

There was a nice atmosphere in the class throughout. People were friendly and I never felt pressured to “keep up” at the expense of comfort the way I sometimes can in group classes. The instructor was careful to always demonstrate and encourage modifications. Another couple of miscellaneous advantages were that it’s very kind on your joints (because the trampoline absorbs a lot of the impact) and you get to preserve your personal space. It’s a bit of a pet hate of mine that many fitness classes really cram you in, so you’ve got to spend half the class watching out for people salsa-ing onto your toes. In this class, you’ve got a little trampoline and no one else is allowed on it and that’s the end of that - perfect for people who don’t love crowds.

I really loved this class and will definitely be back! It’s a great way of having loads of fun while also completing a respectable all-round workout.
