Sacred Harp Singing, Gordon Conway on the Food Crisis and David Nutt on Drugs

David Nutt, Martin Gayford, Sir Gordon Conway and Gavyn Davies will all be visiting Oxford this week to give very different talks. Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale is being performed as an opera and so is Eccles' 1701 short opera The Judgement of Paris. You can see Alice in Wonderland interpreted as a reaction to a funeral; learn about Oxford's observatories and Tibetan ritual objects and/or join a community choir: Oxford Rock Choir is having a taster session and there's still time to join Oxford Sacred Harp Singing group; and indeed to find out what Sacred Harp Singing is - on Oxcast.
