A talk on the Scottish Skipper Scheme at the Fishes, Botley, March 2008.

We are all very concerned these days about the source of the meats we eat but little information is available or encouraged about fish. The Fishes in Botley ran a very interesting evening to inform people about the Scottish Skippers Scheme. Two seasoned skippers came south from Petershead to explain their aim to provide quality fresh produce from an accountable source. Their passion and committment to fishing is evident; they would be much more comfortable in the North Sea in Storm Force 12 than speaking to 65 townies in Oxford with an interest in food sourcing.

Now I know when the fish arrives on my plate which boat it came from and its journey from catch to consumption. Brilliant! Another superb event - thank you to The Fishes!
