The Kyla Brox Band, The Running Horse, Alfreton Road, Nottingham, Sat Oct, 18th.
I caught Kyla and her band at the Runner and boy, what a show. Kyla's amazing voice and stage presence held the audience spellbound while her band of brilliant, virtuoso musicians supported her every crotchet of the way. Marshall's lead guitar was a study in class, balance and presentation. Blistering riffs, subtlety and tonal clarity were all on display, but without the need to resort to ear shattering volume...definitely up there amongst the best. Anthony on soprano, alto and tenor sax, was a joy to behold. The rhythm section was tight with deft stick work from....(? sorry!) on drums and outstanding, virtuoso bass playing by Danny. Kyla is outstandingly talented, gorgeous and sassy...go and see her if and when you can! :) skyclad (Unverified), 20/10/08 |
