An enjoyable if not wonderful fantasy adventure film. It's not of the quality of Avatar or Lord of the Rings, say, but I enjoyed my time in the cinema and feel it doesn't deserve the panning I see in many reviews. Personally I had no trouble in understanding the plot - the dialogue is rather wooden but the acting, stunts and special effects are worth the admission fee.
If you're a young child who's looking for a complicated fantasy adventure movie and isn't bothered that understanding the plot requires more brain power than you have then fine- 'Go see'. But...
This is a terrible film with shallow, wooden actors, special effects aplenty and nothing new. Confession: I fell asleep half way through! I am really beginning to despair of Hollywood ever having the ability to do anything more than just throw loads of money at new movies to fill the vacuum of originality or quality.
Looking around the cinema at the end, most people just looked relieved that it was over.
