Kiss me Kate was an absolute triumph for the cast and crew, an entertaining, quality musical. The setting was competently designed with an interesting variety of levels, and creative lighting. The singing was of a consistently high quality throughout especially with Fred/Petruchio (Tom Rogers) and Lois/Bianca (Grace Ang-Lygate). The relationship between Fred/Petruchio (Rogers) and Lilly/Kate (Poppy Burton-Morgan) was utterly believable, and their characters continually engaging. Special mention should also be made for the impeccable comic timing of the gangsters (John Gethin) and (Alexander Hodgson,) they truly captivated the audience. Furthermore, the chorus and the dancers provided excellent support to the production and the dancing was well choreographed and of an exceptional standard. Tim Jackson superbly conducted a confident orchestra with a particularly strong lead violin and punchy brass. Kiss me Kate was a great achievement and a fabulous night of entertainment.
