A very enjoyable country-house romp in the style of Ealing comedies brought up to date. An old school reunion brings to together a pretty random group of odd-balls and odd-couples, who will each inherit a million pounds if they can survive 96 hours in each other's company.
The outcome sounds like bog-standard farce - corpses in the fridge, bed-hopping and dozy policemen - but it's well played, fresh and had the audience laughing all the way through.
The cast makes a good ensemble, and the house itself (Kirtlington Park) is one of the stars of the show - impressive but a bit tatty round the edges, a mansion made for murder.
I understand this film hasn't got a UK distributor so this was a rare chance to see it. That's a real pity. PictureHouse does a great job in providing a stream of amusing French rom-coms. What about a few more home-grown talents to give us something to compare? If 12 in a Box is anything to go by, we could be missing quite a few gems.
