Good pub. Cheap, interesting variety of beers. Focus is not on food - go here for a few drinks pre- or post- dinner.
Timbo (Unverified), 07/04/11 Good little pub for beer, but questionable food. I ordered two risottos with tortilla chips for me and my wife, but both arrived (suspiciously quickly) with garlic bread instead. (The menu boasts that the risotto meal is gluten free if served with tortilla chips instead of garlic bread.) I mentioned the slight oversight to the waiter, and my wife and I both said it wasn't a problem, but he offered to get me some tortilla chips at no extra charge any how. Meanwhile we both started to eat our meal. The waiter then came back and said something about their policy against wasting food and proceeded to take the garlic bread right off my plate with his bare hands, before returning later with a bowl of crumbled Doritos. I was quite happy to overlook the so-called "Italian hard cheese" (which it wasn't) and I enjoyed the otherwise yummy risotto. I still wonder who got my garlic bread, and whether they enjoyed my germs... L33H4R7 (DI User), 11/04/10 The pub is split level with an art-deco feel and benefits from the excellent and incredibly cheap Samuel Smiths range. Just to clear up a few things from the previous reviews - it's still very much on two levels and has never not been. During weekday afternoons, only one level will be open for staffing reasons but both bars are always open in the evening. Also there are many Sam Smiths south of Leeds, with well over 30 in London for example (very worth seeking out when in London for a good cheap pint!). Three Goats' Heads (DI User), 27/11/08 Strange little continental feeling bar that used to be on 2 levels but seems to have shrunk to only a downstairs bar now. This pub is the only pub I've seen south of Leeds that's under the control of the Samual Smith's brewery. There beers are generally pretty good and I can particularly recommend the Sovereign Bitter which is similar to John Smith's. Place is very small with only about 7-8 tables but it's nice top have a proper pub amongst the near-by chain places on George Street. Joe B (Unverified), 19/08/07 What a great little pub. The lounge bar has a cosy warm feel with very interesting decor. The barmaid was a little sweetheart and recommended the pie, which was excellent. Hope to return when we pick up our graduate son. nick & cate (Unverified), 08/01/07 I have just eaten in this pub, and the food was atrocious. When called, the chef stated that she did not know how to prepare an avocado as she 'did not eat them herself'. All the staff were rude and refused us a refund. monkey (Unverified), 19/08/06 Please fill in the boxes and then click "Send Review" to submit your review for The Three Goats Heads. | |
