What’s On in Oxford

The creative energy of Oxford event organisers is something frightening. As a city, we never sleep. There's always something going on, from charity festivals to professional and student theatre, world class opera, local film screenings, dozens of yoga, dance and fitness classes, political rallies, mind-expanding lectures, many dozens of gigs and concerts each week, a hundred or so churches and weird and wonderful meetings and exhibitions. Some specific University lectures each term are even open to the public.

Other Useful Stuff

Reviews - Cinema, theatre, gigs, concerts, exhibitions etc. Read others' opinions and submit your own! You can also get to the reviews pages from the event pages above.

Venue Guides - We have a brief yet informative guide to Oxford's cinemas and theatres. We also have rather more comprehensive guides to Oxford restaurants, pubs and bars. If you're putting on an event yourself, you may find our Halls for hire page useful, as well as our searchable guides to Oxford Concert Venues and Oxford Gig venues and clubs, with data from real musicians who have suffered from the acoustics or relished the green room facilities.

The Daily Info Sheet - at 450 display points around Oxford, published three times a week in term time and weekly in the vac, our colourful A2 1-page broadsheet is the best way to find out what's on when you're on the move. You can also view it online, find your nearest display point and check out the history (it's been in continuous publication since 1964).

The Weekly What's On - If you're solely interested in events, you may wish to receive our A4 (single or double page) weekly summary of Oxford event listings for the coming week. You can download it or we can email it to you free of charge every Friday.

Musicians, Instruments and Kit - Sell your clarinet, find new band members or hire a PA system. As ever, adverts up to 20 words are free. Paid aids also appear in print and on relevant events pages, such as Gigs and Concerts.

Theatrical Needs - Auditions and production items. Adverts up to 20 words are free. Paid aids also appear in print and on relevant events pages, such as Theatre.

Things to do - Our Oxford Guide index of things to do and places to visit while in Oxford.

Maps - Our latest Oxford By Day and By Night map shows all the central venues that you might want to find in the daytime (galleries, colleges etc) and then, on a separate page, all the places that come alive at night (Theatres, Concert halls and bars). You can download the images, or we can send you a free shiny sample copy, or you can buy them in bulk at a stunningly cheap 20p each.

Extra Publicity - If you're putting on an event, here's how to make sure that people know about it!

News and Weather - Have a look here for Oxford University news, and here for BBC Oxford. There's also the National News. Daily Info doesn't do news as such, but if you think you've got something important or interesting enough for us to do a feature on it, please email us with the details. Here's a link to the Oxford 5-day Weather Forecast from the Met office.
